Build LinkedIn Life Through a Pandemic
LinkedIn Holiday Events
Brief
For five years, Hartmann Studios successfully delivered an engaging and ever-evolving holiday event for 6,000+ Bay Area LinkedIn employees and guests. With moments of anticipation and surprise, new themes and activations every year, we encouraged meaningful connections among guests while also making space to honor the preceding year at LinkedIn. From silent disco to scavenger hunt to LEGO™ building, activations engaged a variety of personal preferences, making sure there was something for everyone.
Then in 2020, as audiences became isolated and Zoom ubiquitous, LinkedIn was looking for a new approach to focus on the positive and unite its global workforce.

Results
Inspired by John Krasinski’s “Some Good News,” and hosted by a globally beloved comedian, LinkedIn transformed its annual holiday party into a virtual gathering that forged connections and felt like an inclusive moment of fun. Employees engaged with CEO, Ryan Roslansky, through live Q&A and delighted in surprising musical performances. However, it was the user-generated videos, photos and “Silver Linings” from around the globe, thoughtfully stitched into the live program, that demonstrated what makes the LinkedIn community special.
Despite a global pandemic, 7,200+ attendees were able to celebrate their people and their company in a time when connections were fewer, farther apart and more important than ever.
